Travelogue number 1 from S/Y Omni

Los Cristianos January 1998

I'm back after two nice months in Norway. My route is now Tenerife-Cap Verde and Brasil(Belem). But as always thing can change. But I would like to see Venezuela.

I have 2 guys from Norge this time. Steffen from Oslo and Magne from Arendal, neither of them have I met before. Albin Vega 27 is mabye not constucted for sailing long distances with 3 people onboard so it is a bit full. There is not many boats left here in Canaries. Most of them have crossed in november and december. There is a norwegian boat here I intend to sail with down to Cap Verde and South America.

We have food for 5 weeks and some 250 litre water (70 gallon) That should be enough if we are not unlucky. My plan sailing to Belem is not to cross the equatorline (Belem is on equator) If the wind dies I could rather sail a bit more northerly. I have all the charts for Brasil and south America, but no pilot books. That is a good sign. No book means fewer yachties.
